The cadets are admitted at school/junior college facility in Aurangabad, where they studyn XI and XII class in the Science stream which includes the following subjects:-
A special orientation for the subjects of UPSC (NDA) entrance examination is given to the cadets by experienced faculty before and after the college hours. Emphasis is also laid on improving their power of expression in English.
The cadets are given practice in self expression by arranging Lectures, Debates, Quiz Competitions, Group Discussions and Outdoor Excursions. These activities develop their self confidence and bring out the hidden talents.
The curriculum is so structured that cadets are automatically prepared to face the SSB Interview.
The minimum educational qualification for admission to NDA is XII standard. Each cadet gets minimum of two chances to appear in the UPSC (NDA) entrance examination while he is at IAC-DA in September and April, in the second year at IAC-DA.
The aim is to ensure that cadets are in good physical condition to undertake the rigours training at NDA
All cadets will have to participate in physical training in the morning and games in the evening.
The IAC-DA provides facilities for Foot Ball, Volley Ball, Hand Ball, Basket Ball, Hockey, Athletics, Cross Country, Boxing and Obstacles Course.
Inter-section competitions for all above games are organised.
Discipline: Cadets are expected to follow all orders and instructions meticulously.
Motivation and Orientation to the Armed Forces: Motivation is of utmost importance. The cadets are given exposure to life in the Armed Forces through a series of lectures, training films and visits to various Defence establishments.
Development of Leadership Qualities: The cadets are introduced to various aspects of leadership, by participation in the routine activities of the institute.
Communication & Allied Skills: It is mandatory for all cadets to communicate in English at all times. Emphasis is laid on extempore speech and group discussions.
Complete infrastructure for SSB training has been developed on the campus. It includes Individual Obstacles, Group Obstacles, Command Tasks and Group Tasks. Preparation for SSB will include the following:-
